For the Marketing Operations Team, we are looking for a Marketing Associate | Trainer & Quality Analyst who is passionate, organized and enjoys working with young people in Africa. We are looking for someone with B2B experience who is eager to learn, but also enjoys sharing their knowledge to educate others. You will develop and implement training guides and video tutorials for entry-level marketers. And you will analyze and assess quality to set the team up for improvement.

Job summary

The Marketing Associate will be responsible for the onboarding, training and quality scores of the remote marketing operations team of Comarketers in (South) Africa. He/she will assist the Marketing Operations Team lead to get the team to perform at quality at speed. 

The Marketing Operations team supports a wide range of B2B growth marketing activities ranging from account and lead intelligence and list building, SEO, lead generation and nurturing, marketing automation and reporting, etc. This function will support the MO team in getting familiar with these tasks, being able to perform and check the work on quality and accuracy when executed.

Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on marketer with a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality who can take on a diverse set of activities that fits a high pace startup culture. He/she is a self starter and is autonomous. A driven person with ambition that enjoys digging into a subject matter, researching and learning about it and can then explain it in a simplified manner.  A great dose of concentration is required as well as being able to work accurately. You’ll need to have patience but also dare to approach and speak up when necessary.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibility is to assure work by the MO team is delivered at high quality at pace. You will do this by educating and supporting the team on assignments for our clients. This consists of:

  1. Training on operational tasks- developing new training guides, adjust current guides, give trainings
  2. Practicing – guide the MO team through practicing new exercises, and ensure they are up to speed within a given timeframe
  3. Quality Assurance – Conduct a regular quality control of the work of the MO team, during and at the end of the exercises. This involves doing a detailed check
  4. Analyze & Improve – Constantly analyze where the MO can improve, where extra support is needed and respond accordingly.

More specifically you will need to:

Training

  • Develop training guides and video tutorials for our remote Marketing Operations team in South Africa to execute marketing operations tasks 
  • Develop and lead training for new projects/assignments – from training, to practice to perfection
  • Liaise with the Marketing Operations Team Lead for projects that have new workflows and build training based on the requested output. In case of any need for refresher training as requested, assess the areas of need and conduct the refresher training to address the problem
  • Conduct introduction training for all new employees
  • Source and compile training material independently whilst ensuring it is kept up to date
  • Support learners during training and collect training data/course feedback for each team
  • Manage and keep track of learner progress and performance through the learning management system

QA

  • Analyze and assure the quality of the output of our marketing operations specialists and provide feedback
  • Compile and send daily, weekly and monthly quality reports 
  • Keep an up-to-date record of individual marketing operations quality performance for use in performance reviews
  • Be available for any questions from and check ups  with the MO team
  • Liaise with the Marketing Operations Team lead to ensure that feedback and the identified quality gaps are addressed with the team members
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on recurring and widespread gaps that should be addressed through the training/refresher trainings
  • You set standard operating procedures, and continuously improve them based on practice

Required skills & experience

  • Marketing professional with 1-3 years of experience in marketing
  • Passion for providing 1:1 support to people with accuracy and empathy
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Planning, organizing, reporting and analysis skills
  • Fast learner with the ability to break down complex information into simple concepts
  • Affinity with developing and maintaining expertise on standard operating procedures and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to perform well in a highly dynamic and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to multitask and work independently, a self starter who takes full ownership
  • Able to prioritize with tight deadlines in a fast paced environment – it’s more likely we need to slow you down instead of encouraging you to go faster
  • Enjoys figuring out new things independently, without detailed instructions. 
  • Good communication skills, can explain things clearly and listen & respond to what is needed
  • Patience, but knows when to speed things up
  • Ambitious marketing professional, strongly motivated and eager to learn
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Enjoy learning new tools, such as WordPress, Elementor, Marketing Automation (eg Hubspot, Pardot), SEMRush, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Data Studio
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal, including a strong grasp of English grammar
