Job summary

Our Marketing Project Manager is responsible for the team’s delivery of (HubSpot) Marketing Operations projects for international B2B Clients. You’re the linking pin between our Marketing Ops Team in South Africa and the Marketing Manager. You manage the projects and coordinate the team in order to deliver;

  • HubSpot Implementation and CRM management, (email) campaign support & automation
  • Database Management, incl. research, data sourcing, data cleaning and enrichment
  • Marketing Operations activities, such as  reporting, data analysis, and SEO 

This job is  a sweet cocktail of management and execution. You’re responsible for the timely submission and quality of the work of Marketing Operations with a team of 6+ who work in Cape Town (office), and Johannesburg (hybrid). You’re coordinating Marketing Operations, including project management, capacity planning and coordination, briefing, training, progress follow-up, quality assurance (QA) and hand-off to the inhouse or client marketing manager.

Ideal candidate
Our ideal candidate is a real pro in HubSpot CRM and Marketing and Sales Hub. He/she is a highly organized, process-driven, detail-oriented operational hero. You love organizing and managing projects and guiding entry-and mid-level marketers to deliver the work to be done. You’re able to plan and prioritize activities to meet deadlines. You are a strong communicator, able to explain the work in a simplified manner to our Ops Team members. You’ll need to have patience but also dare to approach and speak up when necessary. You enjoy helping others, working with different cultures, and managing the team dynamics to support and inspire the Ops Team members to meet and succeed client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management of Marketing Ops activities for (inhouse and client) Marketing Managers, with activities such as;
    • Research: customer research (ICP), buyer research (persona), competitive research
    • Build high quality compliant databases to easily segment, analyze and target customers, like account and contact list building, scoring enrichment and cleaning 
    • Implement and manage HubSpot CRM and Marketing Hub, running Email marketing, email automation, segmentation and lead nurturing
    • Build and run performance reports and provide regular campaign insights, analytics and management information to update marketing managers and clients
    • Implement SEO strategies, including technical SEO optimization, keyword and backlink analysis, on-page SEO optimization and backlink acquisition
  • Project Planning, Capacity planning, and monitoring Marketing Ops project in our work management system (ClickUp) on behalf of the team and (client) marketing managers
  • Coordinate, train and brief team members on projects to be done with weekly stand-ups on Monday, and regularly support and follow-up throughout the week 
  • Quality Assurance (QA): Check quality of tasks, to deliver to the team and client according to our quality standards to support qualitative timely delivery
  • Lead HubSpot Marketing and Sales Hub Implementations, integrations and data migrations, as well as continuous improvement and optimizations.

Required skills & experience

  • Experienced Marketing Professional with 5+ years of experience in Marketing Operations
  • At least 3 years of comprehensive, recent experience in implementing and managing HubSpot CRM & Marketing and Sales Hub (Pro + Enterprise) 
  • Highly organized, outstanding project management skills
  • Strong in time management and prioritization
  • Good communication skills, can explain things clearly, listen & respond 
  • Accurate, with a keen eye to detail
  • Experience in LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Google Suite (incl. GA4, GTM, Ads) and SEMRush
  • Comfortable with collaboration and productivity tools (ClickUp, Slack, Google Drive, etc.)
  • Enjoy documenting expertise in our knowledge base (standard operating procedures, SOP) 
  • Multitasker who can work independently, a self starter who takes full ownership
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal, including a strong grasp of English grammar 
  • Understanding of cultural differences, to bridge the gap between Africa and Western cultures when working for international European and US Customers

This role is office-based, in our Cape Town Office
