Job summary

For our Marketing Operations Activities we are looking for a Marketing Operations Trainer and mentor. You will be  training and guiding entry and mid-level marketers from our Marketing Operations Team in South Africa. And next to that, remotely train Marketing Team members of our clients across the globe.

WHO WILL YOU BE TRAINING?

Training our Marketing Operations Team South Africa:
You will train and mentor our Marketing Operations Team of entry and mid level marketers in South Africa, based in Cape Town and remote.  You will assess and QA their skills to define their maturity level and advice on future training needs for project assignments. You will develop and give skills training – live and on demand –  with video tutorials and knowledge base guidelines. You will practice with the team by designing, instructing and reviewing assignments and projects. And continuously analyze the quality of the work to set each of them up for success.

Training & Guiding  Client Marketing Teams
The Marketing Ops Trainer additionally participates with our Consultants and Trainers in guided and on-demand Training for clients, to help our clients build and run growth engines based on our proven Blueprint. You audit and evaluate their TechStack. You guide the implementation and maintenance of their CRM, Marketing and Sales Automation tools, analytics and AI tooling. You’re able to train and advise on integrations for unified data and processes, training clients marketing teams to use their technology effectively. You create playbooks, templates, and guides for onboarding, training and consistent execution to ensure alignment with operational goals.


WHAT WILL YOU BE TRAINING ON?

The activities include a diverse range of B2B Marketing Operations activities that includes, amongst others;

  • Implementation and management of HubSpot CRM, Marketing and Sales Automation
  • Compliant database management, account and lead intelligence, scoring and segmentation
  • SEO, including SEO audits, Keyword and Backlink Analysis, Technical SEO, On-page SEO, and Backlink acquisition
  • Research, including market research, customer, ICP and buyer research, and competitor research
  • Data and analytics, collecting and managing marketing data from campaigns, interactions, analyzing data to provide campaign insights, analytics and management information for data-driven decisions
  • Campaign and Channel Management Support, including account-based marketing, email marketing, landing page and conversion rate optimization, and social media management.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, process-driven and hands-on marketer with a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality who gets excited about making other people successful. He/she is a self starter and autonomous operational hero. A trainer who enjoys continuous learning, and is extremely interested in the ever-evolving tech and AI-powered marketing landscape. At the same time, you can explain subject matter expertise in a simplified manner, helping marketers use Tech and AI effectively. A great dose of concentration and accuracy is your trademark. You understand the importance of having patience, but you also dare to approach and speak up when necessary.

Responsibilities & Tasks

Help the inhouse and the clients’ marketing ops teams  optimize their marketing operational activities by: 

  • Giving live training sessions and on-demand video tutorials guided by Comarketers’ blueprint
  • Building and maintain training material, knowledge base guidelines and infographics
  • Developing and giving  training for new projects – from training, to practice to perfection
  • Manage and assess skills performance to define maturity level and identify gaps for improvement
  • Keep an up-to-date record of individual and team quality and skills performance for review
  • Liaise with the Ops Training lead and Team manager to ensure feedback and identified quality gaps are addressed with the team members

Required skills & experience

  • Marketing professional with 2-5 years of experience in (B2B) marketing operations
  • Fast learner with the ability to break down complex information into simple concepts
  • Operational hero and process-driven expert with an exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven track record in teaching, training and/or mentoring in any manner 
  • Passion for providing 1:1 and team support mentoring people with accuracy and empathy
  • Ability to multitask and work independently, a self starter who takes full ownership
  • Great flexibility and adaptability, can iterate based on learnings or unexpected events
  • Ambitious marketing professional, eager to learn
  • Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and getting things done 
  • Familiar with (or excited to learn) tools like the latest in Generative AI, CRM and Sales & Marketing Automation (Hubspot), SEMRush, Google Marketing Platform (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, Google Ads), LinkedIn Sales Navigator and LinkedIn Campaign Manager 
  • At least 2 year experience in Marketing Automation (HubSpot is a pre) 
  • Knowledge and experience in SEO, and interested in SEO training 
  • Comfortable with collaboration and productivity tools (Slack, ClickUp, Google Drive, etc.)
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal, including a strong grasp of English grammar 
  • Understanding of other cultures, to bridge the gap between Africa and Western cultures

This a contractor role for initially ~20 hours, potentially more over time. We are looking for someone based in Cape Town, to also give in-person training to some of our Marketing Ops Team members in our office.
